I currently have a monitor connected to the HDMI port on my graphics card but want to span my desktop across to a second monitor. The other ports on my card are DVI and TV out (S-Video or Composite Video). Is there an adaptor to attach my VGA connector from my second monitor into one of these?
The computer i have as a HP Pavillion with a nVidia GeForce 8400GS (ranger200) Graphics Card. It has a VGA port on the motherboard which i could plug the second monitor into but this will not work as the presence of a graphics card disables this output. Is there a way to use this port to allow my second monitor to work?
Any ideas?
Thanks.|||Older video cards that had VGA and DVI for its 2 ports typically came with a DVI to VGA adapter plug so you could use VGA from the DVI port (which has enough pins that it is capable of digital and analog). But some DVI cables only have wires/pins for digital.
So your best bet is to try a DVI to VGA adapter that plugs into the video card end, and VGA cable.|||DVI Converters are available.
